Supporters more than double last year’s gifts while also increasing monthly giving to rally behind Trent’s Campaign for Momentous Change

On Giving Tuesday (November 28), Trent University supporters rallied behind the Campaign for Momentous Change to raise $1,460,900 – more than doubling last year’s total.

During the world’s largest generosity movement, Trent supporters also responded to the call from President Leo Groarke to increase monthly giving to the Trent Fund by becoming new monthly donors as well as upgrading existing monthly pledges to make the greatest impact for current and future generations of students.

“As the holiday season of giving begins, we offer momentous gratitude to our generous alumni, staff, faculty, and community members who are supporting students’ urgent needs by making invaluable monthly gifts,” said Sherry Booth ’98, associate vice-president Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement. “Monthly giving is an easy and affordable way to make a profound impact on students’ lives. We know all our supporters are shaping the next generation of leaders.”

Giving Tuesday takes place each year at the height of the commercial shopping season. Widely considered as the opening day of the giving season, it is a time where everyone joins together to rally for their favourite causes.
