Momentous Trent Day Raises More than $462,000, Sets Monthly-Giving Record
The Trent community joined forces on Trent Day (April 4) by raising $462,525 to support students and programs and setting a new single-day record of increasing monthly supporters.
The third-annual event on April 4 kick-started the Campaign for Momentous Change goal of signing up 500 new monthly supporters by setting a new University single-day record of registering 31 new monthly supporters. The funds provide reliable philanthropic support to areas such as the high-impact Trent Fund for student needs, Colleges and Indigenous support programs.
The event also included alumni volunteering at Trent Day of Service sites locally and across Canada, and support for local food banks.
“What a momentous day for the University community as we came together to showcase our founding values of support, service and spirit,” said Sherry Booth ’98, associate vice-president Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement. “Thank you to everyone who showed their generosity by taking care of our students and campuses. There are no limits on what we can achieve when we work together, at this time of significance, with our collective good will, and in this moment of momentum.”
Trent Day marks the April 1963 signing of the Trent Act, which formalized the incorporation of the University as a degree-granting institution, and pays tribute to the University’s history, values and community.
Make a momentous difference in students’ lives by becoming a monthly supporter to the high-impact Trent Fund.
